Artist's Comments
I was just browsing through my gallery when I stumbled upon this old picture of Zelgadis and Amelia I did waaay back when, and I thought that the difference between these two pictures shows my progression as an artist more than anything else, and it's kinda cool to see them side-by-side. It's the same characters in a sort of similar position, but they are so completely different that it's hard to believe I drew both of them.
It's amazing what five years can do to an artist. P.S. I wanted to call this picture "Progression of a Starving Artist", but it wouldn't fit in the title bar. The Original 2004 Picture The New 2009 Picture Comments
you're right. that's is a major difference
the details on those outfits are amazing!
-- Nothing lasts 4ever except the love of God. Prayer is NEVER wasted on the lost! Just b/c you're different doesn't mean He didn't die 4 u. Don't be different. Be a JESUS FREAK!! A faith worth living for is a faith worth dying for. Wow, what a difference!
You were good back then too. Definite improvement though. -- Help out! Every view is greatly appreciated. <img src="http://dragcave.net/image/dF3W.gif" style="border-width: 0" alt="Adopt one today!"/> They looks so dark now xD

Not only do we have an art style shown from the past, but juxtaposing it with one from the present, is something that most artists are afraid to live up to, afraid to show off.
I am glad that Shira-chan has opened up her own personal progression to us here at deviant art. It really goes to show, that the field of art is something that is constantly evolving, and is not something that can be achieved overnight.
On a technical level, I really enjoy looking at the similarities and differences between these two digital works. The metamorphosis of Shira-chan's knowledge with light, shadow, texture and colour has most certainly grown. As has her anatomy within the work
Thank you for sharing your progression! And, keep on creating!!
