I didn't use the Disney designs, cause I didn't want Prince Phillip getting eaten by a zombie
This picture took three days, between 5 and 8 hours each day... I think it's a record for me. I rarely take that long to finish a picture. But I went full shading on everything and texture-happy, so there was a lot of little detail involved in this that normally isn't there in my other comic pages.
I deliberately wanted to try a strictly horizontal panel layout like you see in a lot of comic books these days. I declare it a success.
This is the kind of like when you fall asleep after reading a fairy tale. Nightmares of the most gory kind.....
But you cannot forget it. Just like this art.
This is an amazing concept (Her aging process and being hungry after 100 years) and not to mention the beauty beneath the creepy. The 8th panel where she standing there, is one of the most well done drawings I have seen in a while.
The last scene is full of tiny details that make it so special. the blood looks splattered by force, a good match for the previous panel. And the blood on the dress just adds to the effect.
that is what the pretty boy gets for kissing a random sleeping chick! well anyway, the colors were amazing! the shading was perfect and i love the way the blood spattered out of his stomach. the whole thing was amazing, how sleeping beauty slowly decomposed into a zombie. i was also a fan of how she had blood spatter covering her clothes after she ripped out his intestines. this comics strip has vision, originality, technique and impact down to a tee. how you thought of sleeping beauty slowly decomposing after she was kissed, how you caught the fear in prince charming's eyes as she grabbed his throat in her steel grip. AMAZING!
